- It appears that the LEX (local exchange) is not recognizing your dialing
- tones. A couple of possibilities exist:
- 1) Did you buy this modem overseas? (foreign countries use different tones)
- 2) Is this an "International" modem (if so, make sure you're setup for US)
- 3) Are you dialing thru a PBX? (If so, it may be a problem with the PBX)
- 4) As a last resort, use the dial command ATDP<number> (this will tell the
- modem to PULSE dial instead of tone... this may or may not work thru your PBX
- (if you have one) and should cause no other difficulties unless you're
- accessing somewhere where you need to send DTMF (dual-tone
- multiple-frequency) (dial tone-type) signals (like a credit card long
- distance).
